its very possible filtering your water makes a big difference - i agree with doctor mod if you don t feel the need to filter water for coffee then don t.but, i can tell you from my work experience at a big box coffee house chain is that our water is triple filtered for all of the drinks we make. we have customers who want to emulate our coffee at home. our customers go to great lengths to try and emulate our coffee....they buy various coffee beans and various expensive machines..and still come back to us because in their words they can not duplicate the taste/flavor at home.....now, we at the coffee house, don t have special coffee makers or magical beans...the only thing we at the coffee house can guess is that the triple filtering of the water makes a difference.so, why not have at least one water filtration system between you and your morning brew?this sure is more cost affective than the triple filtration system that is used by the the big box coffee house.
Too much extra stuff - I was trying to avoid getting the thing that holds the disks and wanted just the disks. Instead, I got a lot of holders and disks. A lot of waste.
Very Good Purchase - I was very pleased with my purchase for my coffee maker. It was exactly as the product in the store which was considerable amount more. Came quickly and in good shape.
Must for hard water - If you saw what is collected on the top of these filters, you might stop drinking my well water. Great price for the wear and tear it saves on my coffee maker.
Expensive, but they do the job - I like my Kona coffee fresh tasting and chemical filled tap water can ruin that. These little filters do a great job of improving the taste of regular tap water.Sure, they are pricey, but I ve found I can go for a few months using just one rather than change it out every month as Mr. Coffee recommends. There are alternatives to them as well, like using pref-iltered water or bottled water, but costs doing it that way can add up as well.Overall, a decent product if you can stomach the price.BTW, as of writing this, the 2-packs are actually cheaper to purchase than the 6pk (going by unit cost). But for some reason the shipping is a $1 more for the 2-pack! Solution: Buy 3 2-pack refills in one order and you save yourself about $2 over the cost of buying just the one 6-pack.
